The Mother of God

Independently created during my second year of university, this environmental storytelling project proposes the idea for a walking simulator where the player acts as the spectator of an unfolding story with no impact on how it plays out. This project achieved a 1st.

 

Secluded within a crevice of some Mediterranean valley is a convent of nuns. Established in the late 16th century, the mountainous area was chosen to home the convent as they fled from pirates and other treacherous things near their previous coastal settlement. Set in the 1960s, several hundred years after the convents relocation, this Sapphic tale tells the story of two nameless protagonists and their hidden love. 

EGDE User Manual

Developed as part of a consultancy role, this sample - showing two of the headers from the user manual - showcases technical writing to a brief. The brief here highlighted both a thorough breakdown of the camera features and a relaxed tone.

Lilac-Lipped Lust

Lilac-Lipped Lust is a zine comprising ten poems. Sandwiched between vineyard i and ii, Lilac explores surreptitious romance and themes of sensuality and longing, its poetry often stepped in natural imagery.

Romanticisation Versus Reality: How do video games represent 'foreign' land and culture?

Romanticisation Versus Reality is the title of my BA Game Design dissertation. Achieving a 1st, this dissertation intended to explore and analyse the various ways - both positive and negative - modern video games represent foreign land and culture.

 

Throughout, I examine the components of several games in detail, from their in-game assets and environments to their use of diegetic audio.
